All orders above $50.00 dollars that can ship via UPS or small parcel mail qualify for FREE shipping within the contiguous United States to non-restricted locations*. Small parcel items include cutting boards, smaller butcher blocks and some kitchen countertops 48" and under.
For larger items such as countertops over 48", kitchen carts, islands and tables that require freight shipping, we charge a flat rate $70 freight fee that is waived for orders over $800.
Orders under $50.00 will be charged a flat $4.99 shipping fee.
We ship to Canada and international! Our checkout cart provides an immediate shipping quote for Canadian customers, but read below for more information.
Shipping and Transit Time
ChoppingBlocks.com ships out of both a West coast and East coast warehouse, in addition to shipping directly from some of our manufacturers.
For small parcel packages, such as cutting boards or chopping blocks, transit time is usually 2 to 5 business days.
Larger products (countertops, kitchen carts, kitchen islands) are filled by our vendors directly, as these items are usually made to order. The lead times on these items are as follows:
- Kitchen Islands, Tables and Carts: 2 to 4 weeks
- Countertops: 2 to 4 weeks
- Butcher Blocks: 2 to 4 Weeks
- Back Ordered Chopping Blocks & Boards: 1 to 2 Weeks
- Specific large items are considered "Quick Ship" and will be available sooner
Note that these are business day estimates and lead times may be extended during the holidays.
Our automated systems will send out an email immediately with your shipping carrier and tracking information once your order ships.
Freight Shipping Information
Over sized items or products over 130 pounds (and some items below 130 lbs) will be delivered via freight truck directly to your home or business. Freight deliveries will go directly to your home or business and will require someone to be present to accept the delivery. We always notify the freight carrier contact you beforehand to schedule a day and time for delivery.
As an complimentary service, we always request a lift gate service for any order where any one item weights over 130 lbs. A lift gate is a powered lift at the back of the delivery truck that can raise and lower goods to in and out of the truck. This ensures that you are not required to lift items out the back of a delivery truck, which can be very heavy and unsafe.
Be aware that most of our competitors do not provide lift gate services by default and will either charge extra for the service or simply deliver your order without a lift gate.
If you would like to schedule a lift gate for your delivery for a lighter load, we would be happy to do so as well, for an added fee of $50. Please call us to to schedule this service.
Please note that all freight deliveries are "curbside", which means that the delivery truck will unload the shipment as the nearest curb adjacent to your home or business. In most cases, this means the front or end of your driveway. It will be your responsibility to transport the shipment indoors, so we highly recommend having a hand truck, dolly or extra set of hands during the delivery.

Canada and International Shipping
We are happy to ship to Canada and have discounted carrier rates with DHL Express for parcel shipments into Canada. Larger and heavier shipments will be shipped by freight into Canada. Use our checkout directly to get rates for Canadian shipping costs. Please note our rate calculator is based on non-remote locations and we may be required to add a shipping surcharge if you require delivery to a restricted* area.
For other international shipments to the UK, Australia or anywhere else, we are happy to use DHL Express as our parcel shipping partner and can deliver within 2 to 3 business days for most of the world. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for a rate quote.
Please note that we do not offer refunds or exchanges on international shipments. In the event that a product is damaged during shipping, we will send a replacement product. For defective products, we will arrange for a replacement, but shipping costs will be the responsibility of the customer.
All customs, VAT or duties will be the responsibility of the customer. In the event that duties are not paid and the shipment is not released, ChoppingBlocks.com will not refund purchase payments.
Your kitchen island or cart will come with assembly instructions. Most John Boos equipment can be assembled in 1 to 2 hours, assuming you have two people. We are happy to provide instructions for assembly of your kitchen island or cart prior to delivery. If you require assistance with assembly, we recommend contacting a local furniture installer or handyman. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend any specific installers because we have found it difficult to recommend a national installer that provides a consistent level of service.
*Restricted locations are defined as remote, land locked or difficult to access locations. UPS and freight delivery trucks require turn around space and will not be able to fit in tight alleys, drives and are prohibited from driving on dirt or gravel roads for delivery. In the event that you require delivery to restricted area, our free shipping promotion will not apply and surcharges may added to the shipping cost.

ChoppingBlocks.com provides a 100% satisfaction guarantee with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with your product for any reason, return it within 30 days of receipt and we will credit, refund or exchange your product.
Conditions for Returns
- Merchandise must be new, unused and in original packaging
- Sales on custom orders (see below) are final and cannot be returned
- Merchandise must be returned within 30 days after receiving order
- Customer will be responsible for return shipping costs, in addition to a 15% restocking fee to cover our shipping cost to the customer
- Credits will be processed back onto the same method used for payment
- Contact us at email@example.com with subject "Returns" for instructions
Unfortunately, due to the nature of our products (big blocks of wood), we are unable to absorb shipping costs for returned items. We would prefer not to have a restocking fee, but shipping just one-way is, on average, 20% of the cost of the board.
To share in the cost of returns however, if you would like to exchange your purchase for store credit, we will NOT charge a restocking fee and only ask that you cover the return shipping.
For damaged, defective or incorrect orders, please contact us within 3 days of receiving your merchandise. We may need to request pictures of damage for shipping claims. An RMA will be issued to you once you have contacted us. If we or the shipping carrier is at fault, we will replace or refund your order at our cost.
Please note, for custom work, we are unable to offer a refund or replacement except only in cases of defective or damaged merchandise.

Custom Orders - Kitchen Islands, Countertops, Standing Butcher Blocks, Carts and Tables
All of the kitchen islands, countertops, kitchen carts, standing butcher blocks and tables that ChoppingBlocks.com offers are custom built to order by the manufacturer.
Once your order has been submitted, production generally begins within 1 to 3 business days. In the event that our supplier or manufacturer has began production, we are unable to provide a refund for your order. Thus, if you change your mind after placing your order, please contact us immediately at 1-888-508-6222 or email@example.com so that we may try to stop production.
To help you prior to your purchase, be sure to ask us for color samples or wood samples so that you can see in person if the product or style will match your needs. We can also provide you with measurements for different parts of each product in case you have special requirements. This can help prevent any issues with ordering a product and realizing it wasn't quite what you wanted.
In the event that your order is damaged or is lost during shipping, we will provide a replacement, provided that you properly noted the damage during shipping. Please be sure to read our shipping page for instructions on how to properly receive your order and inspect for damage.

This product is shipped with a one (1) year guarantee against defect in workmanship and material. Warranty is valid so long as products are properly cared for and maintained with regular oiling and proof of board oil purchases. Water based damage from dishwashers, improper care or humidity will void warranty. Please contact our customer service department to assist with a warranty claim.
